The cause for fire out breaks in schools still unknown more than 36 schools were burnt last year.
Seeta High school, Buddo Junior and Mariam High were some of the victims last year, but it looks like school burning is not to end yet.
This is due to the many schools that have been burnt this year like Kibibi S. S and a Primary school in Masaka district. That has caused worry to many people who believe that school burning is political but still no one is sure about the cause because it's not caused by student strikes.
Kibibi S.S Fire
A dormitory at Kibibi Secondary School in Mpigi District caught fire on Tuesday night destroying students’ property worth millions of shillings and leaving no student harmed.
The fire started at around 7:30pm in the dormitory that houses Senior Two students when they had gone for preps and prayers.
Property of the 135 students were all reduced to ashes.
Mpigi District Police Commander Ivan Nuwamanya said they had not established the cause of the fire and no arrests have been done.
“The fire started when the students had gone for preps and at that time the school didn’t have electricity. The teachers say they have been very cautious on the usage of candles in the dormitories,” Mr Nuwamanya said yesterday.
