Kisekka market vendors protest

The strike kicked off on Tuesday when the market vendors refused to open up their shops following the failure of the city authorities to issue a title deed in theirs names.

The hand-over was to kick off the intended market development. This comes after President Museveni ordered that the market be given and developed by the traders themselves.

However no violent cases have been registered as expected though roads leading to the market remained closed and some traders were seen burning old car tyres.

A day after this incident, they avenged their rage on the UTODA officials whom they believed to have whacked them in the course of arresting some of the protestors and taking them to the police while charting oyee oyee.
