Patrick Bogere's next fight is now scheduled for the 21st of October at the home of British Boxing The York Hall in London. This will be an 8 round contest promoted by Frank Warrens son Francis. This will be screened on the new boxing channel BOXNATION. Bogere 7-1-0 will be boxing Ireland’s Dean Byrne, who is 14-0. This will be Byrnes first contest in the UK having boxed his career in Australia, United States and Ireland, so there is not really a home corner and is a 50/50 fight. Here at Longshots we are under no illusions that this is Patrick’s most important and toughest fight to date but after the destruction of his last opponent who was a very experienced and capable operator team RED ALERT fears no body and an impressive win here will propel Patrick to another level and could lead to more fights under the Frank Warren promotional banner. Since his last win he has been working with Sweden’s best professional coach Wally Munteanu and had some great results in sparring so this is a fight that Bogere is looking forward to and feels in great shape to put on a good performance and get another win on his record.
One of the exciting things about this match is that it will take place at the York Hall in Bethnal Green this venue has been graced by many champions over the years as they were making there way up the professional ladder such as Nigel Benn, Henry Cooper, Lennox Lewis, Ricky Hatton, Joe Calzaghe just to name a few so team RED ALERT will be hoping to make it part of their history on the 21st of October please check back to Longshots sports over the next few days to see where you can purchase tickets or view online www.longshotssports.com

Patrick Bogere vs Slawomir Zeimlewicz
Patrick Bogere took part in a 6 round contest against a tough Polish boxer Slawomir
Zeimlewicz, this was a major step up in class for Patrick as the Pole had 22 wins, 7 losses and 2 Draws and had only been stopped 1 time against KO specialist Phil le Greco. We felt that Patrick has the quality to meet better opposition and start to move up the ranking a little. Upon arrival Slawomir looked in excellent condition and scaled 67.5kgs the day before at the weigh in and Patrick scaled 67kgs and he looked in fantastic shape. There was a great turn out at the Karlstad CCC arena. Around 1400 people in this 1500 seater building and Patrick received a great reception from his home fans.
As the bell rang for the first round Slawomir tried to start strong by rushing Patrick and put pressure on but this of course played right into Patrick's hands as Bogere was able to counter using his speed and footwork to out box the Pole. Rounds 2 and 3 were pretty much the same with Patrick using his Jab and the Zeimlewicz face around the left eye was really starting to show signs of being constantly pounded. During the 2nd round there was a clash of heads and Patrick sustained a nasty cut above his right eye. Fortunately we had one of the UK's best cut men in the corner with us in Dean Powell who was able to keep the cut under control and not let it become a factor in the outcome of the fight.
During the fourth round Patrick took his foot of the gas a little which allowed Ziemlewicz to produce enough work to perhaps win the round. The fifth was back to business again for Bogere who produced some of his best work of the fight drawing his opponent in, making him miss and countering with fast combinations. It was obvious by now that the Pole was starting to feel the pace and the left side of his face told a story of being dominated for most of the fight. As they went into the 6th and final round the Judges score cards had it 46-49 in Bogere's favour, so he could have just coasted to another points win. However Bogere had other ideas and a particular combination that he and Wally Munteanu (Chief Trainer) had worked on the day before, for around 35 minutes, was on his mind.
He spent the first minute of the round making Slawomir miss his shots and countering. Patrick's fantastic natural condition allowed him to be faster to the punch every time. He then saw the opportunity to set up the former Polish champion for the combination they had worked on and as you see from the photo's and Video he nailed it. The Pole over committed himself with a wild swing and Bogere was there to capitalise with a perfectly placed shot that rendered his opponent unconscious and laid on the canvas for quite some time.
This of course was the worrying part even though this is what has been termed ”The hurt business” no boxer ever wants to really damage their opponent and as you can see from the video's and pictures Patrick's first concern was for his opponent. It was a relief to all the team when Slawomir got to his feet and was deemed to be OK by the Medical staff.Although there was a female world title fight being fought on the same show it was once again Patrick Bogere who stole the show with a great display and just proves that Patrick is willing to fight more experienced opposition in order to move up the rankings. This win moved him 123 Places up the Boxrec world rankings and placed him 45th in Europe on the Boxrec rankings, with only eight pro fights this is a good achievement. Patrick will now move onto great things and will hopefully be back in action in 6 to 8 weeks, because of course we have to give that cut at least 4 weeks to heal properly before he can even start sparring. However other work will be done in the mean time, please check back here at Longshots Sports and Entertainment for updates
