Ugandans unsatisfied with R. KELLY

E-mail Print

The American R&B singer who has been in the game for over 20 years, left many Ugandans unhappy with his precise performance.

R Kelly, also known as Mr. Show biz held a concert at Lugogo Cricket Oval in Kampala on 29th January, 2010 courtesy of Zain who had to pay over 1.4 billion shillings to have him perform in our country.

We also had our own artistes like GNL, Peter miles, Radio and Weasel, Raba daba, Eighton and Rain of the ‘Kiwoko’ fame, Bebe cool and Dr Chameleone share the same stage with the R&B star who failed to perform at the expectations of many show goers.

R. Kelly’s performance was a bit as catching as his voice with the crowd singing along throughout most of his 40-minute act.

Just as he began belting his first song, a take flight erupted at the gate where a big number of revelers who had paid for the concert were still struggling to get in though many still failed to watch him perform since they only managed to get in when the show was actually over.

Ugandans get fed up of the rampant musical concerts.

Should we say it’s the economic crisis or the Makerere university tuition increment that has forced the music lovers out of the concerts or it’s the many concerts which are organized by the artistes?

This is after the flop of the recent musical shows. Artistes who fell victims include; Mariam Ndagire [she wept], Iryn Namubiru, Gen Mega Dee and Boys In September among others.
