Sylvia Namutebi (23) winner of the 2011-2012 miss Uganda crown finished the Miss world pageant in the 37th position just behind Miss Ghana and ahead of USA’s Alyssa Campanella with a total of 174 points collected throughout the whole event.
This 61st edition of the pageant hosted in London UK on November 6th was won by Ivian Sarcos of Venezuela followed byMiss Philippines and Miss Puerto Rico in the 2nd and 3rd position. Sylvia excelled in the sports event in which she helped her orange team finish second overall. The sports event consisted of activities like swimming, sprinting and the shuttle run to mention but a few.
This impressive performance by Sylvia Namutebi could mean that Miss Uganda pageant is back on track due to the fact over the past few years it has always been clouded by controversies since Sylvia Awori’s exit.
