Description

Set upon a fishing dock an adopted young boy named Jonathan shares with a couple of his friends the intriguing secret to his adopting Uncle Gabriel’s success. This story takes his friends on a hair-raising journey back to when Uncle Gabriel encountered a very mysterious man that would change his life forever, the “Cornerman."

The “Cornerman” wasn’t anything like Gabriel could have ever imagined; he happened to be the manifestation of Gabriel’s mother's ordeal, as some would say his mother must have been under some sort of “terrible—generational curse”… (Exodus Ch. 20); in fact she’d recently had to bury two of her three sons only to find herself having to bury her husband just a few weeks later. This led to a volatile nervous breakdown and her subsequent untimely demise.

Meanwhile, her son "Gabriel" encountered the mysterious Cornerman on his way home at the Pinnacle—an old run-down building across town which was once the neighborhood church, but over the years had become such an "eye-sore" that the Mayor of the city called to have it demolished, that's when the Cornerman appeared. He somehow got the demolition crew to put the job on pause and as promised, he quickly returned to not only restore the old Pinnacle, but also transform it into a nostalgic boxing gym in order to train the fatherless—the troubled young men in the neighborhood. These guys would come out in droves to learn how to box, but the Cornerman's real mission was much greater. However, there was just one small problem— “Mr. Bolo”.

Mr. Dominic A. Bolo, his friends called him “D.A." for short. Mr. Bolo, the successful entrepreneur who seemed to have it all! ...loads of charisma—and money was certainly no object. From private jets, yachts, along with the most beautiful homes, cars, women—you name it! And like the "Cornerman, Mr. Bolo also had a thing for boxing. In fact, you’d find Mr. Bolo in Las Vegas or Atlantic City …wherever that big championship fight was—there you’d see t "D.A." sitting in the "best seats in the house. He enjoyed nothing more than seeing two men climb into the ring, trying to literally "kill each other". That's what turned him on, “seeing men trying to kill each other.”

Returning from one of his trips, Mr. Bolo decides to convert one of his many properties into an upscale, state-of-the-art training center—primarily for boxers, and just like the Cornerman, "D.A." would also invite new recruits, only they didn't know of his terrible agenda until it was too late.

As the story unfolds, we find that "D.A.Bolo's" out to destroy the “Cornerman’s” protégés one by one, with his sights ultimately set on Gabriel. Therefore, it would be up to the Cornerman to prepare Gabriel for the battle of his very life, and it would be up to Gabriel to not only face his demons (Diabolos), but ultimately chase his demons and stand fast...UnPhaZed!
