Congratulation Uganda Cranes for the 2-1 win against Nigeria (super Eagles). This victory has given Uganda a chance of playing in the Africa Nations Cup Final for the first time in 30 years.

Cranes lost 1-3 to Lakeview FC in the league cup final. This was Cranes’ first biggest cup final defeat in the club history. Lakeview took a lead just after 10 minutes when Cranes’ keeper Bruno Ogwanga spilled ball from what was supposed to be a comfortable save. However Cranes quickly equalised through Bright Wahabu(left). In the end he turned out to be the only Cranes’ player to score in both Cup finals. Well done Bright you gave all our supporters a smile, see photo below.

On the day Cranes failed to perform, even simple things became difficult. This was evident from Dennis Kirunda’s defence clearance that rebounded to give Lakeview’s striker a one to one chance with Cranes goalkeeper, which nicely converted to make it 1-2.

Twenty minutes into the second-half Lakeview extended their lead to 1-3 following a free-kick, which left Cranes Keeper Bruno injured. Cranes tried to reorganise and pushed forward, creating a few chances but it was too late.

Special thanks to all our supporters who travelled in that bad weather. Also many thanks to MR Yusuf of SALABED INTERNATIONAL for all his support throughout the season.

Millwall Elite (1) -London Cranes (4) League Cup Semi-Final at Barking College on Sunday 29th May
London Cranes formerly Uganda East FC lived to their nickname of the “Cup Kings” when Mathias Ndawula(1), Ismail Bukenya(2) and Mathew Lsingoma(1) scored to put Cranes into the League Cup Final two days after wining the Premier Division Cup.

Cranes started well when Mathias Ndawula out paced Millwall Elite centre backs to give Cranes a lead just after five minutes.

However Millwall quickly equalised to make 1-1. After the equaliser cranes turned on their attracting football only to be denied by Millwall’s goalkeeper. This was a day for goalkeepers, in the dying minutes Cranes were nearly knocked out, only to be saved by Man of the Match Bruno Ogwanga who produced an excellent save. When it came to extra times everyone thought Cranes will tire out considering they only had one day to recover following the cup final.

However they forget to remind London Cranes that you meant to get tired, so the Cranes boys put up another gear which made Millwall struggle and soon Cranes gained the lead following a quick one-two passing between Ismail and Eric Mbassa. When Cranes took the lead Millwall lost their will to fight, Cranes superimposed their game breaking Millwall’s defence part leading to a final score of 1-4 to Cranes FC.

Congratulation Uganda Cranes for the 2-1 win against Nigeria (super Eagles). This victory has given Uganda a chance of playing in the Africa Nations Cup Final for the first time in 30 years.

However after this victory Uganda Cranes’ Hungarian-born coach Lazslo Csaba has warned his players that the job is not yet completely done. We need to concentrate for the next game on June 17 against Lesthoso in Maseru, one of the coolest places in Africa. His also worried about his capital Ibrahim Sekagya’s heavy travelling schedule, after the match against the super Eagle Sekagya left for Argentina.
